I am fascinated by identity and transformation; by transition, movement, journeys and time; by the emotional and physical impact of change; by the spaces in-between and juxtaposition; the edges, the margins, the fringes and limits, the suburban interface between city and countryside and the local distinctiveness therein.
I find inspiration in ordinary objects and the everyday and idiosyncratic things that we take for granted as well as the beautiful, the unexpected or the unusual. I like to scratch beneath the surface (tension) to understand perceptions that are held of a place and to observe the quality and character of its fabric and society.
I communicate my ideas through conversation, participation and collaboration. I like to stretch and blur creative boundaries. My work finds expression and validation by referencing and celebrating people, their locality and cultural history. I create rich and rewarding experiences in the design of public spaces and being places.
My purpose is to produce work with integrity and resonance. Places that are stimulating and inspiring, Spaces that are evocative and responsive.
